On 19th,20th and 21st October 2007 the Hornets made the short hop over the channel to Eindhoven for the qualifying round of this years European Men's Cup. The first game against Ecruiel de Amiens was full of penalties as Hornets struggled to get to grips with the continental refereeing style. However despite 26 mins of penalties we still ground out a 5-4 defeat. The next game was against by far the best team there, Valladolid from Spain. This team had everything not to mention a few Czech and Canadian imports. None the less The Hornets took the game to them and easily matched their possession. Unfortunately the Spanish counterattack was awesome and the Hornets were on the wrong end of a 6-0 score line. To be fair the score line flattered a little as the gap was not that large whereas the ability to finish was the real difference. In the final game against the hosts Eindhoven it was the Hornets turn to be in control and in a good natured game the Hornets came through 6-1 winners. Hornets are back next year having once again qualified.
